The Power Boys Series
The Power Boys are two brothers in a fictional boys book series of 6 children's novels by author Mel Lyle. The books were published in the 1960s.
The two Power Boys are 17yr old Jack and 15 year old Chip Power. The boys father Thomas is a photojournalist and their mother died before the series start. The boys have a pet dog Dalmatian called Blaze which is given to them as a gift at the end of the first book in the series.
17 year old Jack Power is described as tall and slender, serious and dependable and having short reddish-brown hair, green eyes and freckles.
15 year old Chip Power is described as slim, blond hair, blue eyed and impulsive.

In the series Jack and Chip Power travel with their father Mr. Thomas Power who then is called away as a part of his job for several days leaving the boys to look after themselves and invariably become involved in various adventures. The boys are detectives tracking down criminals much like The Hardy Boys do.
In The Mystery of the Double Kidnapping Jack tells Dick that during the school holidays the boys travel wherever their father's work takes them otherwise they live in Chicago. As the boys are traveling with their father in the adventures of these series they don't refer to the boys home as all the books are set during the holidays. Three of the books in the series are set in New York City.
The six books in the series are as follows:
- 1. The Mystery of the Haunted Skyscraper (1964)
- 2. The Mystery of the Flying Skeleton (1964)
- 3. The Mystery of the Burning Ocean (1965)
- 4. The Mystery of the Million-Dollar Penny (1965)
- 5. The Mystery of the Double Kidnapping (1966)
- 6. The Mystery of the Vanishing Lady (1967)
