Plot: Cherry is promoted to Chief Nurse whilst
stationed in the Pacific. The book has a heavy war theme with Cherry being sent on a secret errand to a new air base and there army camp hospital tens come under fire. Cherry realizes she has lived up to her ideal about the nursing profession and is happy.
Flight Nurse ( Book 5. First Published 1945)
Author: Helen Wells
Plot: Cherry volunteers for air duty at the start of the book as becomes based in England. Cherry is responsible for flying into battle areas and helping n the evacuation of wounded soldiers. At the end Cherry is sent Stateside due to a bad back from one of her missions and fatigue but not before she is awarded the Air Medal and a citation for skill and courage.
Veteran's Nurse ( Book 6. First Published 1946)
Author: Helen Wells
Plot: This is the first "Post War" Cherry Ames book and like a lot of nurses during that time Cherry completed the remaining time of her enlistment at Graham General Hospital, a War Veteran's hospital where she helps restore both health and hope to its patients. The mystery of this book involves stolen medicine.

Private Duty Nurse ( Book 7. First Published 1947)

Plot: With her enlisted years now behind her Cherry Ames contemplates the future. Whilst deciding on a career direction Cherry undertakes Private duty for a well known musician. The mystery backstage starts up and Cherry finds herself in danger in a blackmail plot.
Visiting Nurse ( Book 8. First Published 1947)

Plot: Cherry Ames decides to move to New York City with friends to work as a Visiting Nurse Service. The mystery surrounds a long time local story of a recluse living in a Victorian Mansion.

Plot: Cherry Ames takes a job on a luxury
cruise liner traveling to Curacao. Cherry becomes involved with a modern day pirate treasure mystery as there is a priceless bottle of Ambergris hidden aboard the ship.

Plot: Cherry Ames returns to where she worked for her student years at Spencer Hospital. Cherry begins work in the new children's wing of the hospital and setting out finding the truth about who committed a pawn shop robbery when someone is falsely accused.

Plot: Cherry takes a job in a small town country hospital with financial problems as the Night Supervisor. Cherry develops problems with a one of her patients before saving the day by solving a crime and the hospital's finances.
Mountaineer Nurse ( Book 12. First Published 1951)

Plot: Cherry
Ames works in a remote isolated village in the mountains of Kentucky. The village is steep in traditions and superstitions that make Cherry's job hard for her.
Clinic Nurse ( Book 13. First Published 1952)

Plot: Cherry returns to her home town to work in a newly established clinic. Mystery sleuth Cherry also finds the time to solve the mystery behind strange happenings at the millhouse and old Bacon Farm.
Dude Ranch Nurse ( Book 14. First Published 1953)

Plot: Cherry works on a dude ranch in Arizona caring for asthmatic patients, a theme which resembles Julie Tatham's Trixie Belden's Mystery In Arizona where it is mentioned there is a nurse looking after asthmatic patients on the ranch. In this story Cherry is
on the receiving end of some malicious pranks.
Rest Home Nurse ( Book 15: First Published 1954)

Plot: Cherry takes on a new role as Nursing Supervisor at Wayside Rest Home. But
why is Mr Stanley so secretive about his locked briefcase? Why is he
receiving strange gifts and what is their connection to the word “Sesame”?
Cherry Ames comes into danger as she is captured by a criminal will she
escape in time?
